Anytime we leave our dog Scout in the RV, even for a few minutes, we come back to her waiting by the door for us like a parent waiting up for their child who just blew right by their curfew. When we first started RVing we would take along a massive wire kennel and put her in it each time we left. But it was huge and a real pain to store, set up, and work around.
Last year we started boondocking more and, when we did, we didn’t open any of the sides of the RV. This meant there was no room to set up her kennel. Scout isn’t a puppy and she has never chewed on anything or destroyed anything, so we felt confident leaving her to roam the RV.
We use a Wyze Camera to monitor her as well as a wifi temperature sensor to ensure it doesn’t get to hot. She isn’t normally by herself for too long but regardless of where she lays when we are gone she is right by the door, waiting for us when we come back. If we only could hear what’s going on inside her head!!
She is the cutest! I love how she hangs her little paws over the steps. Anytime we are outside nearby and have the screen door closed she sits on the step with a sad little look, begging us to take her out too. We just love her so much!
